A Moment of Pure "Inspiration"

There is nothing quite like the feeling of pouring your heart into a piece of art, sending it out into the world, and having it resonate with others. Recently, the Fredericksburg Art Guild hosted its highly anticipated annual Juried Show, titled "INSPIRATION." The energy at the First Friday Art Walk opening reception was absolutely incredible—the room was buzzing, local talent was on full display, and the walls were packed with stunning pieces from across the Texas Hill Country.
I am incredibly honored and thrilled to share that my digital painting and digital collage, "Wildflowers of Kenya," was awarded Third Place in the Mixed Media category! 🌸✨

Behind the Piece
Anyone who knows me knows how much the natural beauty of Kenya inspired this piece. With "Wildflowers of Kenya," I wanted to blend traditional feelings with digital techniques, layering textures and colors to capture Kenya's incredibly diverse ecosystem that spans from semi-arid savannahs to lush highlands, resulting in a rich array of stunning and resilient wildflowers. Seeing a ribbon placed next to it at the gallery was an incredibly humbling and proud moment for me as an artist.
A massive thank you to the Fredericksburg Art Guild for putting together such a wonderful showcase, to the judges for this honor, and to everyone who stopped by to celebrate local art with us. Congratulations to all the other incredibly talented winners and featured artists!
